Royal Caribbean International offers a wide range of entertainment options designed for different ages and interests. Guests can watch Broadway-style productions, enjoy live music, attend comedy shows, see professional ice-skating performances, participate in karaoke, or spend the evening at a nightclub or lounge.
Entertainment is available during both the day and evening, although the exact selection depends on the ship and sailing. Royal Caribbean also offers activities beyond traditional shows, including game shows, dance events, parties and interactive experiences. Royal Caribbean
Whether you are travelling with children, as a couple, with friends, or on your own, understanding the entertainment options can help you plan your cruise and make better use of your time onboard.
Royal Caribbean entertainment can include:
The exact entertainment lineup differs between ships. Some venues and shows are available only on particular ship classes or individual ships. Royal Caribbean
One of the major entertainment options on Royal Caribbean is its Broadway-style programming. Depending on the ship, guests may find productions such as CATS, Mamma Mia!, Hairspray, The Wizard of Oz, or We Will Rock You. The available production depends on the ship and sailing. Royal Caribbean
These performances are presented in dedicated theaters with professional singers, dancers, musicians, costumes and stage production.
Royal Caribbean states that its Broadway shows and theater productions are included in the cruise fare, although availability varies by ship. Royal Caribbean
Guests should check their particular sailing for the shows being offered.
Royal Caribbean also creates original productions rather than relying only on licensed musicals.
These productions can combine:
Royal Caribbean's entertainment program spans different types of performance spaces, including stage, ice, water and aerial productions. Royal Caribbean
On ships equipped with an AquaTheater, guests can watch performances involving divers, aerialists, acrobats and aquatic performers.
The AquaTheater combines a performance pool with an open-air theater environment, creating a show that is quite different from a traditional stage production. Royal Caribbean
Because AquaTheater shows are ship-specific, passengers should check whether their ship offers this venue before expecting an Aqua show.
Ice skating is another distinctive Royal Caribbean entertainment option.
Professional skaters perform choreographed productions featuring:
Some ships have an onboard ice rink where guests can also participate in free-skating sessions, depending on the ship and schedule. Royal Caribbean
If you prefer music rather than large stage productions, Royal Caribbean offers multiple live-music settings.
Depending on the ship, guests may encounter:
For example, Music Hall can feature live bands, while venues such as Schooner Bar may offer piano entertainment. Royal Caribbean
This makes live music an easy option for guests who want casual evening entertainment without attending a full theater production.
Comedy is another option available on Royal Caribbean cruises.
Guest comedians can perform in dedicated comedy venues or larger theaters. Some comedy programming may be intended for adults, particularly late-night performances. Royal Caribbean
If you are travelling with children, check the age requirements and show schedule before attending.
Guests who want to participate rather than simply watch can try karaoke.
Royal Caribbean offers Spotlight Karaoke on selected ships, with opportunities to sing popular songs and perform for other guests. Some venues may offer a main stage, while others can provide private-room options depending on the ship. Royal Caribbean
Karaoke can be a good choice for groups looking for an interactive evening activity.
Not all entertainment requires sitting quietly in a theater.
Royal Caribbean also offers interactive activities such as:
The schedule changes by ship and sailing, so guests should check the daily program or Royal App for current activities. Royal Caribbean
Royal Caribbean ships continue offering entertainment after the main theater shows finish.
Nightlife can include:
The cruise line describes its nightlife program as including live music, dancing, karaoke and late-night entertainment across different venues. Royal Caribbean
On ships with Music Hall, guests can enjoy live bands and a more music-focused evening environment. The venue may feature different performers throughout the cruise. Royal Caribbean
Schooner Bar is another familiar Royal Caribbean venue where guests can enjoy piano entertainment and sing-along-style performances on applicable ships. Royal Caribbean
Royal Caribbean also provides entertainment and activities for younger passengers.
The Adventure Ocean youth program provides age-appropriate experiences for children and teens, while family-friendly activities can include games, parties, shows and other onboard events. Royal Caribbean
Parents should check the specific activities available on their ship because youth programming and entertainment can vary.
Many major entertainment offerings are included in the cruise fare.
Royal Caribbean specifically identifies theater productions, Broadway shows, AquaTheater shows, ice-skating shows, comedy and live music among its entertainment offerings included with the cruise fare. Royal Caribbean
However, not every onboard experience is necessarily included. Some activities, specialty experiences, food and beverages, or other services can have additional charges.
Always check the details for your specific ship and sailing.
Some Royal Caribbean ships allow guests to reserve entertainment before sailing.
According to Royal Caribbean, eligible ships can offer advance reservations for Broadway shows, AquaTheater performances, Two70 productions and other entertainment through My Royal Cruise or the Royal App. Royal Caribbean
You can:
Not every ship offers advance reservations for every type of entertainment.
A little planning can help you see more shows without rushing between venues.
Review the entertainment schedule regularly because performance times and activities can vary.
If your ship offers advance reservations, consider booking shows you particularly want to see.
Avoid scheduling activities back-to-back when venues are located in different areas of the ship.
Instead of attending only theater productions, consider mixing:
This gives you a broader experience of the ship's entertainment program.
No. Entertainment varies by ship.
For example, AquaTheater performances are associated with specific ship classes, while Broadway productions, ice shows, Two70 performances and other entertainment options are also dependent on the ship. Royal Caribbean
This is why it is important to check the entertainment information for your exact ship rather than assuming that every Royal Caribbean vessel offers the same shows.
